South Australia

South Australia’s population is centred around Adelaide and the coastal region towards Victoria. Adelaide with a population of 1.1M is Australia’s fifth largest city. And 11.1% of its people were born in non-English speaking countries. There are not a lot of ethnic cafes in Adelaide but those there are, cluster around the wonderful central market in Gouger St and nearby suburbs. Adelaide uncluttered streets make them all very accessible.

Tourism accounts for 6% of Australia’s total, so this is a city that serves its locals.

South Australia is the centre of the country’s wine trade and the wine culture of Adelaide is unmatched in Australia.

The climate is warm and dry, especially in summer – outdoor, footpath, dining is an important part of the Adelaide experience.
