Mietta's Review
Minnie Gaundar never forgets a customer. She is an amazing and charming bundle of Fijian Indian energy and it is she, rather than the restaurant, that is constantly recommended. Ramas is a rather out of the way Indian restaurant with extraordinarily bright decor. The food is good, very reasonably priced and, rare as rare, it's a BYO that doesn't charge corkage - what a winner!

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 12/20 "From the moment the doors open, a steady stream pours in to this suburban favourite, tucked into the corner of a shopping centre"

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2007 Score: 12/20 "For 15 years this warm-hearted suburban kitchen has charmed diners with its merriment, the winsome smile of hostess Mini Gaundar, and pork curry cooked with coriander leaves and served with hot spices and cool mint yoghurt."

SMH Good Food Guide 2006 Score 13/20 "Rama's is the pride of Woden Valley the first of Canberra's satellite towns. This terrifically welcoming local curry house sits in a shopping precinct in suburban Pearce and packs them in just about every night. It succeeds because the food is honest, satisfying and at times intriguing, while the hostess, Mini Gaundar, wears hospitality like a vibrantly woven shawl."

Gourmet Traveller Australian Restaurant Guide 2006 - Best cheap eats "Rama's makes for an excellent break from bain-marie boredom with a Fijian-accented take on the Indian canon"

SMH GFG 2005 Score 13/20 "Pearce is blessed with a scattering of eating establishments, the pride of which is Rama's. With a decor that's much more elegant than that seen in 90 per cent of Indian restaurants around the nation, they're already ahead of the pack. Factor in the great charm of hostess Mini Gaundar and her staff, and a selection of Fijian-Indian specialities, and you're looking at a seriously appealing proposition."

Gourmet Restaurant Guide 2005 mentioned in Best Cheap Eats "offers interesting Fijian-Indian in a slick room"

SMH GFG 2004,Score 13/20,'It's a colourful, busy room, with the obligatory Indian pictures, and bench tables down one side.Vibrant host Mini Ram's cheerful,nothing's-too-much-trouble service adds warmth and keeps happy locals returning for her sister Daya's Fijian-influenced Indian food.'
