Gourmet Traveller 2013 Australian Restaurant Guide Score: 2 Stars "The best fine dining is a touch theatrical, and the Aria team can be relied upon for a bravura performance. Dramatic river views from curved floor-to-ceiling windows complement an elegant, sleek-lined room"

Gourmet Traveller 2011 Australian Restaurant Guide Score: ** "Brisbanites were a little star-struck by Aria's arrival. A year on, the crush has relaxed into something less breathless, but it's still the spot for blockbuster dining. Specify a table along the curve of glass with its panoramic river views"

Queensland Food and Wine Score: 17/20, Two Stars "Aria burst onto the scene amid a blaze of publicity, especially surrounding co-owner and star chef Matt Moran, who devoted the first three months to his new northern venture"

Courier Mail Tony Harper, September 22, 2009 Score: Food 8 Wine 9 Service 9 Ambience 9 "A friend of mine captured the mood of Aria Brisbane perfectly. It is, he said, a restaurant that makes you want to spend money. I couldn't agree more. The decor is plush in a slightly clubby, restrained way (aside from a garish carpet in the upper dining room). There's enough soft material that the restaurant, even when full, is awash with a murmur rather than a din. It has the same fabulous view that Pier Nine offered for so long, but Aria's muted interior tends to highlight the external. It feels luxurious and proper, welcoming and relaxing."

Courier Mail Lizzie Loel, 29-08-2009 Score: Food 18 Wine 18 Service 17 Ambience 18 "Tones are muted and earthy with acres of wood panelling and Mercedes Benz leather lining the walls and cleverly acting as noise insulation as well as adding that anticipated level of luxe. There's a palpable opulence to the room but it is also masculine, streamlined and almost club-like. The kitchen team is 25-strong and, on the Saturday evening of our visit, it felt like the service team was equally well endowed. ... You can take the boys out of Sydney, but there's no taking Sydney out of their restaurants. Aria Brisbane feels like Aria Sydney but filled with a slew of hungry, ebullient Queenslanders. The hush is not so quiet, the veneration of the food and surrounds a little less reverent. Considering its location, it all spells success to me."

Courier Mail Des Houghton, 07-09-2009 "THERE has been a shameless excess of publicity given to a new restaurant in Brisbane called Aria. I don't think the media has gushed so profusely since the moon landing. Drum roll, please, for Matt Moran, who also has a restaurant called Aria overlooking Sydney Harbour that has won numerous accolades. Aria Brisbane, in case you have just arrived from another planet, sits on Eagle St Pier on the site of Matthew HillSmith's once fabulously successful Pier Nine seafood restaurant"
