Have a barbie on Australia's first ever National BBQ Day Sunday 26 November 2000
The official day is Sunday 26 November and the aim is for 500,000 people to simultaneously celebrate this event with family and friends by throwing a steak or lamb chop on the barbie. All across Australia, neighbours, social clubs, sporting teams and celebrities will raise a glass as they gather together around a barbecue in their local backyard, local park or even innner city apartment balcony.
