The Mietta Song Recital Award promotes the
performance and wider appreciation
of Art Song in all its diversity



The Mietta Song Recital Award provides an extraordinary range of opportunities for the winning singer in the genre of Art Song (Lieder), including overseas study, travel awards and training opportunities, nationally and internationally. Valued at over $20,000, some of the prizes include best pianist ($5,000), an encouragements award, an audience choice award and participation prizes for finalists and semi-finalists.

Judges 2008

The eminent panel of judges is comprised of Margaret Baker-Genovesi, Maestro Richard Bonynge, Richard Mills and Stephen McIntyre.

Master classes will be given by Eilene Hannan, Sharolyn Kimmorley and Marilyn Richardson.

Following the competition the ABC will be providing a recording workshop to assist the finalists in the technical aspects of recording performances.

The award will be held on the weekend of 12-13 July 2008
