One Fitzroy Street Restaurant Bar

A prime St Kilda spot, from the balcony you can see clear over the bay. Upstairs is quite formal, with a soft dark carpet and well-spaced tables. The stylish banquettes are very comfortable and contrast well with the minimalism of Phillippe Starck's Louis XX chairs. With the plush padding of carpet and furnishings, the room is quiet, you can enjoy your conversation over a fine meal. Service is usually good and the private dining room is ideal for small parties. A very impressive wine list with a substantial range of Australian current and vintage wines as well as good offerings from France, some of which are represented in the 18 wines available by the glass which are of a high standard and reasonably priced. Yanni Psanis's food is always good and always interesting. The autumn menu included five innovative vegetarian dishes. A place which has been set up with both professionalism and a passion for fine wines and food. It seems this year, from recommendations that more people are recognising this and considering it number One in more than name and location.
