One of the city's favourite meeting spots for the young and not so young. Popular during the day with city workers who enjoy its speedy, no nonsense style and the wide range of dishes. In the evenings, it's a very mixed clientele but there are regulars who meet here to catch up on the scene. For Kate McGhie it's fast fabulous food that nourishes and comforts. Good value to boot. For mum and baby, the macaroni cheese is a sure fire winner. City regulars say 'The food keeps up a good standard and the service is pleasant and efficient - appropriate to the whole style of the place. It always has a good and interesting short wine list for such an unpretentious place. They are always turning it over, trying new wines at a reasonable price. It is an enterprising list for such a small place that really doesn't emphasise its wine side. We find it especially pleasant for lunch. In the summer we find it hot and stuffy - this is a real problem on hot humid days. Noisy when busy, but that's the nature of the place. Very popular with young(er?) people.
