For its quality of food, attention to detail and careful service, Morgans offers great value in this price section. More and more people are discovering this and using it as a special place. The $55 five course menu shows off chef John Lepp's repertoire well. A la carte dishes range from $11.50-13 for entrees and from $18-22 for mains, desserts $9-9.50. You can order side dishes but you don't need to at Morgans. The plates are well presented and generously garnished. The service, directed by Kristine Lepp, is pleasant and thoughtful. Lighting is low on the linen-covered tables and there are romantic table lamps to create the right mood. Set in a basement just round the corner from busy Toorak Rd, it's a place you have to know about. No seduction from the outside, you need to believe the recommendations. The room is not attractive or buzzy. This is a place to seriously enjoy your food and conversation.
