To secure a table for dinner at this delightful cafe, get there early. A little after 7pm and you'll have to wait your turn. The menu is promising, and all meat is 'halal' or kosher. Skip the entrees and head straight for the main dishes. The grilled trevally cutlet bathed in a thick sauce of tomatoes, onions and fresh spices is sensational. the traditional curry laksa with its rich split-pea curry soup and chicken fillets could be enough for two. If that is too rich, try the combination noodle hot pot. This is rice noodles with chicken, minced chicken balls, fish cakes, egg and vegetables in a thick chicken broth flavoured with lemon grass. A sprinkling of the Burmese chilli paste adds that extra flavour. The cafe also serves Japanese, Thai, Indian and Malaysian dishes.
