Bistro Inferno
Mietta's Eating & Drinking in Melbourne 2000
Contributors' Choice Page 46
You can die happy contemplating a visit to Inferno, there is no suffering here, but a good variety of food, including vegetarian dishes, at reasonable prices. Owner-chef Gerald Douglas is a serious chef and likes his restaurant considered that way. It's an unpretentious place with a small front part then the kitchen then a back room. Not smart but relaxed with knowledgeable and attentive service. There is a short reasonably priced wine list with wines by the glass starting at just $3.50 and a separate page of Reserve Wines. Some lovely wines here, which appear to be personal favourites.
