Hairy Canary

The Hairy Canary sits upstairs in a black cage with a very wide window open to the street. It's a great place to be trapped in, the coffee, the music, the tapas and the groovy young staff make the inside world seem a lot happier than out.

A city resident and regular says "I like this place very much. It is comfortable, usually has very good staff, a watchful management, good coffee and tea, some good sherries and very tasty food. I am addicted to their oysters and a glass of sherry. And good reading matter." But this is based on daytime visits, at night the Canary gets very excited, the volume of the music goes up and there are lots of young night owls visiting. DJ's on Sunday nights.
