Nary a pair of blue rinse ladies in matching twin set and pearls will you spy sipping cups of tea in Acland St's Espresso Bar. Chock full of locals on a daily basis for breakfast, lunch, drinks and dinner, it is a Mecca for the bayside's gay community. An easy meeting place with great coffee and diverse food. There is a fundamental well-cut black on black and blacker dress code that is generally adhered to by those who go to goss 'til they drop or choose to sit back with the papers over a long and leisurely breakfast. Neither overly child-friendly or child-opposing, it accommodates non-smokers well when the weather is fine and all the doors are open directly on to the street.
