Cheese Straws
Ingredients
1 cup Plain Flour Cornflour Cornflour
1/2 cup SR Flour Cornflour Cornflour
3 tablespoons Butter Butter Butter
1 pinch Salt Salt Salt
1 small spoon Cayenne Pepper Cayenne Pepper Cayenne Pepper
1 cup grated Cheese (must be matured) Marscarpone Cheese Marscarpone Cheese
1 beaten Eggs Egg Egg
Milk Milk Milk

MethodRub the butter into the flour and salt. Add cayenne pepper and cheese. Mix with beaten egg and little milk into fairly stiff batter or dough - roll out thinly - cut into lengths about 3 inches long - Bake in moderate oven till light brown.

Remarks It is wise to make all straws ready before baking as they require careful baking on greased scone trays.
