Baked Apple Roly Poly
Ingredients1 cup Plain Flour 1 teaspoon Baking Powder Pinch Salt 1 tablespoon Butter 2 Apples peeled and sliced 1 tablespoon Sultanas 1 tablespoon chopped Peel 1 good teaspoon Spice 1 tablespoon Butter 1/4 cup Sugar 3/4 cup Water |
MethodSift cup of plain flour, teaspoon baking powder and pinch salt and rub in 1 tablespoon butter. Mix with enough milk to make scone-type dough. Roll out lightly (about 8 inch x 12 inch). Put apples, sultanas, peel and spice all over and roll up. Place in deep dish and pour over the hot sauce - takes 3/4-1 hour in moderate oven. To make sauce: Put tablespoon butter, sugar, and 3/4 cup water in saucepan and bring to the boil |
