Vanilla Ice Cream
Ingredients
24 Eggs Egg Egg
4 cups Sugar Sugar Sugar
4 pints Cream Cream Cream
4 capfuls Vanilla Vanilla Vanilla

MethodBeat yolks and sugar then cook carefully in double boiler till thick.
DO NOT BOIL.
Cool, add cream and vanilla.
Churn as usual.

There were large spoonfuls of home made ice cream, made from a puree of fresh fruit, churned until frozen with egg whites, and served with aplomb.
The choice is orange with cointreau, apple with brandy, plum with Rowan vodka, chocolate and rum, walnut with leatherwood honey, or just straight vanilla.
I had one of each, or at least, a portion thereof."
