Tomato Sauce 1
Ingredients20 lbs Tomatoes 3 lbs Apples 2 lbs Onions 2 lbs Sugar 4 cups Vinegar 4 level tablespoons Salt 3/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper 3 teaspoons Peppercorns 3 teaspoons Cloves 1 teaspoon Allspice |
MethodCut up roughly tomatoes, apples and onions and boil until soft. Strain through colander. Put liquid in pan and add all other ingredients. (Tie peppercorns, cloves and allspice loosely in a muslin bag before adding). Boil three hours. |
