MethodSlice 6 hard-boiled eggs, and put a layer in a well-buttered casserole. Sprinkle with grated cheese, pepper, and salt, then add another layer of egg slices. Continue in this way until all the eggs are used, then pour over sufficient rich white sauce to moisten thoroughly. Sprinkle the top with breadcrumbs and grated cheese, dot with butter, and bake for 10 minutes. Serve from the casserole.
