The Australian John Lethlean, 28 January 2011 Score: 3/5 "Samudra is a little slice of Byron Bay "down south", as the West Australians say. This is a beautiful stretch of coastline that extends from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin ... Part yoga centre, part retail outlet for things that go with organics and raw/live/whole foods, and part incredibly chilled (yet switched on) cafe, entering Samudra is like entering a relaxation zone. A combination of decking set among the garden and indoor space (dominated by a Kombi coffee station) gives the place an oasis-like personality. Rough-hewn, chunky timber tables, recycled timbers and a let's-have-some-fun-with-this approach make the place a melting pot of travellers, surfers, locals and the hordes of affluent Perth folk who holiday in the area. The message of quality food, without the dogma, seems to transcend demographics at this - sadly - daylight hours-only establishment."
