Mietta's Review
Casual, clattery and unpretentious with pleasant service at this family run cafe. Good coffee, a fresh and generous fruit salad; bacon and egg burger on good Italian bread. No great style unless you like fish nets, life buoys and mermaid etchings.

West Australian Good Food Guide 2012 Score: 14/20 "THE RELIEF was palpable when the entrees arrived. Could this be one of those rare beasts - a restaurant by the water that doesn't believe the view somehow compensates for average fare? In a word, yes"
The West Australian Good Food Guide 2011 Score: 14.5/20 "The seaside motif is inescapable at Cottesloe's Blue Waters Cafe. The view is a sliver of Indian Ocean, flocks of grommets and gals in Billabong boardies stroll by, and some awkward paintings of lifesavers are on the walls to keep you company"
Sunday Mail Gail Williams, 13-12-2008 Score: 3.5/5 "We're sitting in Blue Waters Cafe overlooking a sea of grey. On this overcast day, it's the ocean of greying hair inside the cafe I'm talking about. But these well-heeled superannuants obviously know a prawn and scallop laksa ($32) from linguini with crab ($32). They must have heard about Blue Waters' biggest asset, their Michelin-star chef - former owner of the famous Berkeley Square Restaurant in London's Mayfair"
Sunday Mail Sandra Peterson, 09-1-2008 Score: Value 2.5 plates, Food 4.5 plates, Ambience 4.5 plates, Service 3.5 plates "This unassuming little cafe exudes beach chic, with its sparsely furnished interior and white walls covered in iconic Aussie art by Jos Myers and other ocean-inspired prints. Butcher paper, clamped on top of the tables, is a perfect canvas for families with tiny tots to create their own artwork. The helpful staff will happily provide buckets of coloured pencils and pictures of butterflies and dinosaurs to colour in on request. "
Sunday Times Gail Williams, 29-10-06 Score: 3 stars out of 5 "LET'S be thankful for small mercies. The chefs at Blue Waters Cafe have been sensible enough not to put beef cheeks on the menu at their popular little beachside cafe that is sooo boomtown Perth it almost oozes money. Coastal-dwelling members of the judiciary and comfortably cashed-up investors have flocked here on a Wednesday when we have accidentally stumbled across what seems to be a regular grey-power night. What's attracted the elegant seniors - like seagulls to chips - are generous servings of reasonable quality food within sniffing distance of the ocean and a friendly vibe. You can't get much more Perth than this."
