Mietta's Review
Very cool underground bar with lush velvet seating and terrific cocktails. The main feature here is the range of vodka, over 40, from around the world, but there is also champagne and caviar on a small but interesting menu. Popular with a varied though quite young crowd.

Other published opinions

The Age Cheap Eats 2008 "Almost 20 years after the Iron Curtain came down, St Kilda mainstay Mink has ditched the Socialist artwork and been refurbished into a bar reminiscent of an opulent American speakeasy (although door staff still like to act the Soviet border guard sometimes)"

The Age Cheap Eats Bars 2007 "Mink sells itself to the stylish as an upmarket vodka bar, offering a discombobulating array of imported vodkas (Polish, Russian, honeyflavoured) to complement a broad selection of wines and beers."

The Age Cheap Eats 2006 This intimate, subterranean vodka den consistently attracts the best-looking crowd in St Kilda.

The Age Liz Cincotta November 25, 2005 "There's nothing seedy about Mink, an underground vodka haven beneath St Kilda's classic Prince of Wales complex. A mix of elegance and Iron Curtain mystique, this chic vodka bar is home to about 45 house-infused vodkas and about 80 branded ones."

The Age Cheap Eats 2004,Good Bar,Somewhere we can highly recommend,'Descend the concrete stairs and head for the back, where strapping men and striking women in khaki fatigues serve simple eats like olives or dips with expertly made drinks in an atmosphere of utter decadence.'

The Foodies' Guide 2004, Allan Campion & Michele Curtis,'Bars with Great Food-Vodka lovers, come here and indulge in your favourite pastime while enjoying some great European food.Try the vodka tasting menu, dominated by Polish and Russian brands of varying strengths and colours.'
