Mietta's Review
It is imperative to book ahead for a table at multi-award winning Red Hill Estate, especially on weekends. The view across the vineyards to Westernport Bay, Phillip Island and French Island is a grand setting for lunch or dinner - courtesy of chef Max Paganoni - in a restaurant that manages to combine elegance and grace with unpretentious warmth and friendliness.

Other published opinions

Age Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 14/20 "If a picture is worth a thousand words, how many is a great view worth? Something to ponder, perhaps, while gazing out through this winery restaurant's floor-to-ceiling windows onto a stunning vista of manicured vineyards stretching out towards Westernport Bay"

Herald Sun Simon Plant, 24-03-07 "I'm on the Mornington Peninsula and gazing at Western Port Bay and cool-climate vineyards from the best possible vantage point: Max's at Red Hill Estate. This boutique winery on the road to Shoreham is known for its rather good chardonnay and pinot. Ever since Max Paganoni established a dining room here in 1993 (one of the first winery restaurants on the peninsula), it's also been well regarded for its food."

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 score 13/20 "Sweeping views across bush-fringed vineyards to Western Port are only part of Max's charm. There's a warm welcome on arrival, a relaxed setting with tables dressed with brown paper over white linen (crayons available), and careful food-and-wine matching"

The Age Good Food Guide 2005 "THE panorama - undulating rows of vines stretching toward Western Port - is rather special. The food is pleasing, too."
