Mietta's Review Without doubt this is the most comfortable place to stay in the area. Set amongst the vines at Red Hill with bush around, gardens, some wild life (rabbits) may cross your path and kookaburras might wake you in the morning. The rooms are large, well furnished, the bathrooms spacious and they all seem to have pleasant views of the surrounding country or inner garden. There are a variety of guest lounges to choose from, then there's the large indoor swimming pool, gymnasium, sauna and massage room and tennis courts outside. No wonder it is such a popular conference centre. Dining a la carte however can be tricky, depending on what groups are in house. Somehow you don't feel as if you are in a restaurant, rather in a room in a house in which they've put tables to accomodate the conference. Hard to be all things to all and, no doubt this doesn't happen every day. On that occasion it did seem that service staff were emergency recruits and lacked experience. A shame because the food can be better than average and the setting outside so good.
Other published opinions
The Age Good Food Guide 2006 "Lindenderry's dining room tries to pretend it's not part of a convention centre, and nearly succeeds. The food navigates through near misses to flashes of brilliance"
The Age Good Food Guide 2005 "Lindenderry juggles the hospitalit trifecta of function venue, restaurant and cellar door. The restaurant' grand proportions, weighty drapes and uniformed staff create a sense of occasion that the food sometimes struggles to match."
AGFG 2004, score 12/20, excellent wine list, restaurant attached to a winery, accomodation available
