Mietta's Review
Somewhere between a bar and a cafe this groovy place whith its ultra-smooth late night decor has a real buzz at the bar. Earlier breakfast is all the go. Then the mood morphs into evening eating. Prices are reasonable and the bar pulls some of South Yarra's more elegant gentlemen.

Other published opinions

The Age Cheap Eats 2008 "With minimalist decor, white banquettes and large windows overlooking a backstreet in Prahran, this hip, cruisy hangout is as confident as its well-sculpted clientele"

The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "White banquettes line floor-to-ceiling windows and low-slung wicker lampshades keep the minimalist interior mood-lit. Ice is quite the hip hangout. Whether it's an all-day breakfast, late lunch or dinner, diverse menus worship the body as a temple, giving all five food groups a major workout."

The Age Cheap Eats 2006 With the decor swinging between leather and concrete, waitstaff competing in the cool stakes with the clientele and the house soundtrack echoing freely, Ice is part standard diner and part hip recovery club.

The Age Cheap Eats 2005 "THE aqua blue panel over the bar looks like it's been sliced from a frozen swimming pool, and the white banquettes scream 'nightclub'. But by day, habitues of the gym across the street come here for the food, predominantly."

The Age Cheap Eats 2004,Good vegetarian options,Somewhere we highly recommend,'Ice is all dressed up with plenty of get-up-and-go.The look is pouting glamour, with white faux-leather banquettes, metallic furniture and nightclub decor, but low-key staff keep it real and the menu offers clever food at reasonable prices.'

The Age,Epicure,29/6/04,Matt Preston,'It still has that chic casual designer mood, but the food is now much more stripped-back Aussie cafe fare.'
