Mietta's Review Open seven days a week from 9am-3am, Daguerres sets a cracking pace. It is also the cafe in this stretch of Chapel that is doing the business. It's a funky Prahran cafe whose charcoal grey and orange walls are adorned with coloured photographs that Daguerre (a photographic pioneer) could only have dreamt of. Effusive black T shirt clad waiters bound around bringing traditional modern Australian dishes to the local residents and Chapel St workers who enjoy the warm atmosphere inside or smoke at the tables on the footpath.
Other published opinions
The Age, 20.07.99, Matthew Evans "Daguerre's fare is simple but decent...The cafe is licensed and boasts nearly 30 wines by the glass... and there is a terrific range of beers. It seems that the local suits like the place as much as the arts students: for such an 'in' street, there's no real 'in' crowd at Daguerre's."
