Mietta's Review A pitched pine ceiling hovers over unpolished timber floors, wall lined with pressed metal, dark bentwood chairs and dark metal edged tables set with good cutlery and glassware. Within this rather smart space T-shirted waiters ply their trade. The service is good. The food has some Dalmation (Croatian) dishes along with more Italian and 'Mediterranean' items. It is well done and very professional in its consitency. Prices are very reasonable (mains mid $20s) and there's a bargain priced three course Croatian menu, with choices, for $35.

Age Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 13/20 "Exposed beams, moody lighting, rustic brick and pressed-metal walls make a strong statement in this casual, industrial loft-style space"
The Age Good Food Guide 2006 score 14/20 "A modern bistro offering a taste of Dalmatia, a region on Croatia's Adriatic coast, has been a long time coming to Melbourne, and Dalmatino waves the flag with style, honesty and a genuine sense of hospitality. The Dalmatians use more meat (especially smoked meat) but much less garlic and olive oil than is common around the Mediterranean"
Herald Sun Dining Out Stephen Downes 18/10/05 score 14/20 "As time goes by, Dalmatino will be introducing even more Croatian A tucker of a rustic, domestic nature. And it's bound to be good and tasty. Moreover, you'll eat it in a quite stylish, warm ambience. The wine list is limited, interesting and very well-priced. It's complemented by a handful of Croatian wines. The one we tried excellent."
The Age Epicure 3/5/05 John Lethlean score 14.5/20 "An honest, likeable bistro with good food and hospitality. ... Service: Friendly, Value: Strong."
