Mietta's Review
With its bare wooden floor, windows on three sides, simple furnishings and high ceiling Wild Oak Cafe has something of the feeling of a hill station. This is enhanced by its setting in an attractive and abundant nursery. The original cafe was built in the 1930s and retains much of its character. Tabletops are bare, napkins are paper and there is no wine list as such, although red and white house wines are available by the glass. Service is informal and friendly. Good food, simply and attractively presented.

Other published opinions

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 "Wild Oak's contemporary green, white and aubergine fitout is a match for the simple mod-Oz fare. Staples that impress, without hitting dizzying culinary heights, include Atlantic salmon with pesto"

The Age Good Food Guide 2005 "WITH its airy ambience and contemporary soundtrack, this cafe adds some modern shading to Olinda's pastel palette of eateries. The thoughtful food shows a keen eye for design - sometimes too keen - but flavours are well balanced."

The Foodies' Guide 2004,Allan Campion & Michele Curtis,'A recent make-over has ensured Wild Oak's position as a top spot for modern cafe meals with good service and live music on the weekends.'
