Mietta's Review
There used to be an Asian food court in the basement of Port Phillip Arcade, but that has closed down, and now the action has moved to ground level. Sushi Ten with its bare walls and cavernous feel spreads across two shop fronts. There is a huge open kitchen and a refrigerated servery filled with packages of sushi and sashimi in various combinations. A black board menu of Japanese soups and rice dishes supplements this offering. All cheap, served happily and quickly, with the sushi and sashimi being the best bet. The tables keep turning over from just before lunchtime to well after with local professionals, Asians and residents from the student accommodation on Flinders Street.

Other published opinions

The Age Cheap Eats 2008 "You'll face a queue, a scramble for a table and an unlovely arcade - all bright lights and big noise - but the reason you're battling salarymen, students and backpackers for a lunchtime table is that Sushi Ten's fare is so fine and fast"

The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "Don't be fooled by the fluorescent lights and down-at-heel glass frontage: join the long queue of suits, students and backpackers stretching outside Sushi Ten's doors every day at noon."

The Age Cheap Eats 2006 This place puts pace before personality, and could keep up with Tokyo's lunch rush. City folk don't linger at Sushi Ten's wooden tables in the fluoro glow; they come for good sushi and sashimi

Herald Sun CityStyle Best of Melbourne 04 Best-value sushi "Any later than noon and you'll find long queues waiting for takeaways or hoping to find a seat in this tiny Japanese eatery."
