Mietta's Review
One level up over Centre Place, a very busy laneway. It's open for late breakfasts onwards. Middle Eastern influenced food. Though a bit grotty it's good for a drink after work even if that should extend well into the evening.

Other published opinions

The Age Cheap Eats 2008 "This homely hipster's haven is sequestered one floor above the hustle of Centre Place"

The Age Clem Bastow, 28-2-2008 "Like its surrounds, Hell's itself is a warren of staircases and hallways before you come to the upstairs portion, a U-shaped arrangement comprising tables, chairs and banquettes in one end, a longer, narrower seated area against the window, and then the bar at the other end of the "U". This has the effect of keeping the venue's patrons spread out enough to avoid claustrophobia at peak hour but close enough to each other that the less-populated afternoons still feel friendly and welcoming. Warm-toned lamps, a jumble of witty ephemera (collages behind the bar made of tabloids and trash mags, postcards, odd little bits and pieces) and an excellent drinking soundtrack (indie classics followed by '70s AOR followed by some obscure recent gems) combine to make Hell's the perfect place for an afternoon to melt into a late night."

The Age Cheap Eats 2004,Good Bar,Good,'Claim the window bench for the best views of the bustling laneway below while the music swirls around you-along with post-lunchtime cigarette smoke.Middle Eastern flavours dominate the lunch list...At the other end of the day it becomes a decent after-work drinks destination.'
