Mietta's Review
Perched on the edge of a modern development with large windows looking onto the Chinese Museum, its lions and forecourt, Chine serves refined Cantonese food in a comfortable situation. Some unusual dishes albiet at quite high prices.

Other published opinions

Age Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 13/20 "You mightn't know whether to ask for a quail sang choy bao or a remedial massage if Chine on Paramount's usual soundtrack is any indication: think panpipes meets 'Songs of the Humpback Whale'"

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 score 14/20 "The fervour in the kitchen does not trickle into the cool, collected front-of-house at Chine on Paramount. This is the sort of place where a chef is asked by his boss to reinvent a childhood memory of calamari looking like shasta daisy and, after weeks of fine-tuning, the dish appears on the menu as chrysanthemum calamari."

The Age Good Food Guide 2005 "THIS assured, compact and shiny restaurant is a popular spot for business lunches thanks to well-spaced tables and discreet service. While lacking the grandeur of some of the nearby big boys, Chine does make up for it with a small but very well chosen wine list and a somewhat quirky menu."

The Age Good Food Guide 2004 Awards-1 hat, score 15/20, excellent wine list, wide range of vegetarian dishes

The Age Good Food Guide 2003. Score 15/20

The Sunday Age, 30.03.99, John Schauble Score: three stars."
