Mietta's Review
Open for breakfast and until very late (5am Thurs-Sat) this Chilli Padi serves good modern Malaysian food to office workers, city residents, students and those that 'live the night', in it's multutude of smartly turned-out eating spaces. It's great to be able to drop in for one of their Hawker style dishes at any time.

Other published opinions

The Age Cheap Eats 2008 "Pop art panels add verve to dark timber in Chillipadi's mod architect-designed city pad"

The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "Cartoon murals enliven a sleek, modern fitout in this bi-level refectory that bustles with students, office types and city groovers. It's an all-day affair, which might kick off on the balcony with a brekkie bacon-andegg roti."

The Age Cheap Eats 2006 A designer fitout of dark wood, blinds and hip-hop paintwork sets the tone at this two-storey, trans-Asian fave. Tables upstairs are bunched close together for shoppers, students and suits, who take advantage of the two-course lunch special.

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 score 12/20 "The food's on the better side of mod-Malaysian, and the setting's on two levels, with six separate dining areas, including outdoor sections. In short, not a bad spot to gather the office faithful for a lunchtime of laksa-slurping and fighting over mini spring rolls."

The Age Cheap Eats 2005 "THERE'S a savvy designer behind this new Malaysian restaurant. You'll notice the vivid Warhol-style branding, dark-wood panelling and charcoal fabric walls. Then there's the playful picture-book format menu. And the best news is that the food at this nifty spot lives up to the setting."
