Mietta's Review
Set on the terrace over looking the river, the Concert Hall and spire, Arintji has Federation Square's prime spot, and on Jacques Reymond it certainly isn't squandered. This is a very professional set up, quality cutlery and napkins are amply met by pleasant, efficient staff, and an interesting, well executed menu. From tapas to main meals, the diner is given great flexibility in dictating their own type of dining experience. With its orange glow, the room is split level and again offers choice for the diner-an intimate table or a communal one. Recently opened, it is busy, busy, busy, even early in the week, turning away custom. Best book.

Other published opinions

Age Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 13.5/20 "As the younger, more energetic sibling to Jacques Reymond 's eponymous gastrotemple, Arintji has become an institution in its own right"

Gourmet Traveller 2008 Australian Restaurant Guide "There are very few places that could comfortably place a (not so) humble steak sandwich on a menu alongside a dish of sauteed autumn mushrooms, truffled poached egg and parsley foam"

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 score 14/20 "In families it's said the youngest sibling gets away with the most, and if Arintji is any indication, the same must apply to restaurants. This Fed Square joint, owned by the inestimable Jacques Reymond, rebels against the special-occasion formality of his eponymous Windsor fine diner, and plumps for a studied casual elan."

Gourmet Traveller 2006 Australian Restaurant Guide * "Veteran restaurateur Jacques Reymond got his concept for an informal, flexible bar/bistro with eclectic food and contemporary interiors spot-on from the start. Chef Daniel Wilson illustrates that nailing the formula with big, brassy flavours from all over the world is a talent few can boast."

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 Outdoor Seating "Jacques Reymond's stylish bistro makes the most of its prime location, in Melbourne's now famous cubist courtyard."

The Age Good Food Guide 2005 "ARINTJI is Jacques Reymond's love child: the spry, sassy foil to his Windsor grand dame. This clattery split-level space in Fed Square is finished in timber and earth tones, with umbrella-shaded communal tables outside. The mezzanine kitchen is visible through a long slice-of-life window, from where chef Daniel Wilson's zeitgeisty food gleams alluringly"

Gourmet Traveller 2005 Restaurant Guide "Freewheeling and youthful, Arintji is the kind of place you can drop into for coffee and a muffin before a gallery trawl. You'll probably like the flexible, globetrotting menu so much you'll soon be back for pre-theatre cocktails and creative, shareable plates"

theage (melbourne) magazine 4/12/04 John Lethlean "Arintji is the quintessential "bit of this, bit of that" Melbourne restaurant, swerving from Madrid to Mumbai and back, via Marrakech and Chiang Mai. But where others sink, or just tread water, this place swims like a fish."

Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2004,'modern cafe life. With views of both the CBD and the Yarra, the position is superb...Dishes swerve radically from Asia to Spain and the Middle East, but all share deft crafting and quality ingredients...A smart wine list and pleasant young floor team make Arintji a brigh experience.'
