Mietta's Review
Pizze and Fiche, tucked away at the wrong end of High St is another entrant in the designer pizza competition that is sweeping Melbourne. Excellent modern pizzas at expected prices. Outside seating, licenced and BYO. They do a big take-away trade.

Other published opinions

Herald Sun Stephen Downes, 1-07-08 Score: **** "Melbourne has plenty of pizza restaurants, but Pizze E Fichi is one of the best"

The Age Cheap Eats 2008 "A pizza a day keeps the doctor away, or so says the Italian scrawl on the chalkboard of this smart little trattoria"

Herald Sun Dining Out, Stephen Downes, 23-10-07 Score: 14/20 "This is one of Melbourne's A best pizza restaurants. I Though others might be fashionable, Pizze e Fichi simply delivers great pizzas with a gastronomic edge from a woodfired oven. The alcohol list includes several Italian beers by the bottle, four table whites and the same number of reds by the bottle or glass. They are all cheap and excellent value."

The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "Kewsters love this little slice of Italy. From the stylish interior and swift black-clad staff to what comes out of the deftly driven oven, it's better than many Lygon Street stalwarts."

The Age Cheap Eats 2006 Alessandro D'Auria used to be a pizzaiolo in Milan, and also worked at Pizza Espresso in Templestowe before opening this Kew eatery. The wood-fired oven turns out delicious thincrust discs.

The Age Cheap Eats 2005 "Pizze & Fichi belongs to that new breed of pizzeria where the food is stodglessly sound. The signature pizza, with prosciutto, gorgonzola and fig (semi-dried or fresh when in season) balances salty, sweet and creamy."

Herald Sun Donna Couttes score 16/20 30/11/04 "Service is swift, efficient, friendly. Both places are freshly, simply decorated, immensely popular, allow BYO wine and present simple, pizza-dominated menus."

Herald Sun, Sunday Magazine, 21/3/04, Jane Hutchinson,'Some of the best pizza in Melbourne...Thin, bubbling, as authentic as he used to make them in Milan'
