Mietta's Review
It was a milk bar, then a Pet food and supplies store, then a florist before morphing into its latest guise, but there is a sense that this space has finally found itself. Locals are raving, and so popular has this inner-suburban eatery become that reservations are a must for later in the week. The menu is produce driven and takes inspiration from various cuisines. Attention to detail in all that it does makes Blush Foodroom stand out. A good wine list and reasonable pricing makes this one of the best Kensington.

Other published opinions

Herald Sun Stephen Downes, 1-07-08 Score: *** "Herald Sun There area few niggles with this joint, but one thing's for sure: you'll love Blush's food"

Herald Sun Dining Out, Stephen Downes, 30-10-07 Score: 15/20 "Little things count. And I kept listing "if onlies". A charming young chap, the OB waiter should have been able to remember who ordered what. He could have brought us water and bread without our asking, too. But you'll love Blush's food. The wine list is limited but wellpriced; six table whites and the same number of reds are available by the glass."

Age Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 13/20 "A change of ownership seems to have settled things down a little in the kitchens of Blush. Under the bygone regime of co-owner and chef Robin Neaves, every dish seemed to visit several continents before arriving on your plate"

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 score 13/20 "At Blush, the lillies are not only gilded, they'll probably arrive garnished with lavender peperonata. But there can't be many places where the menu is this bold while the prices remain so down-to-earth."

Herald Sun Cafe Culture Donna Coutts 30/8/05 score 17/20 "Delicious food at very fair prices. Excellent service. Cosy, classy environment."

The Age Good Food Guide 2005 ""this artfully downlit, split-level restaurant is displaying serious ambition - and results. They still do simple weekend brunches and pleasant lunches but dinner's the deal.

The Foodies' Guide 2004,Allan Campion & Michele Curtis,'There's plenty of room for food here, from the hearty breakfasts to the solid lunches of gnocchi and risotto.Dinners are often booked out,so ring ahead.'
