Mietta's Review
A purpose built Vietnamese restaurant with simple, inviting decor, no cutting-edge style here. The food is very good, the wine list small, reasonably priced with a good range of beers, the best drink to have with most Vietnamese food. The service is helpful, though there can be some language barriers. Some of the dishes are huge, the green papaya salad with seafood will feed four easily.

Other published opinions

The Age Cheap Eats 2008 "Smoking barbecues sit on each table at this bustling, but never too-busy-to-care, eatery"

The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "Streams of smoke give away this eatery's speciality: the novel and nourishing cook-at-thetable barbecue. It starts with beef, venison or kangaroo hand-packed into rice-paper rolls along with finely chopped apple, cucumber, carrot, lemongrass and mint."

The Age Cheap Eats 2006 Things are done a bit differently at Star. On the extensive Vietnamese menu at this family-run spot, staples like flavoursome piles of spring rolls, firmly packed rice-paper rolls and steaming bowls of pho sit alongside a Cambodian-style soup
