Mietta's Review
Don't be confused by the name; Woodstock is about Calabrian cooking with mum and dad in the kitchen and son Tony serving the food and making the coffee - with pride. A great family place. You can sit in the front part with the bar, coffee machine, big cans of Illy coffee and all the Grand Prix memorabilia in showcases. Or sit on big tables out the back, past the pizza oven, where the room widens out into quite a big space, big enough to park an old Fiat and some Vespas in the middle of the room

Other published opinions

The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "There are no mud-splattered hippies wigging out over psychedelic guitars here. The 'wood stock' just keeps the pizza oven firing. It is, nevertheless, a beacon for local artisan pizza aficionados - place an order after 8pm and you'll be waiting patiently with a bunch of them."

The Age Cheap Eats 2006 Two rooms, two moods at this family-owned pizzeria. The pine-panelled front area, dotted with Ferrari memorabilia, is for quiet dinners, while out back ... the space opens wide enough to swallow a baby Fiat, rowdy social clubs and three-generation family groups

The Age Cheap Eats 2005 "MELBOURNE'S much-trumpeted 'pizza revolution' must baffle the Cannata family, who have been spinning wonderful wood-fired discs for the past 10 years. With mamma working the floor and one of the kids Pounding the dough, this is the real deal."

The Age Cheap Eats 2004 "The front room, with its itty-bitty Fiat parked among the tables, is cosy and gingham, while out back it's a bit of a barn. Bring some wine, and patience on busy nights, as there's no hurrying perfection."

The Age, A2, 15/5/04, Matt Preston,'this cafe is the place for a group of lads to enjoy a few ales and some of the best thin-crusted beauties in Melbourne'

Agenda, 21/3/04, John Lethlean,'this is the quintessentail slice of Itailan-Australia.You don't see such honesty and lack of pretension all that often. And they make excellent pizza.' The Age, Epicure, 25/11/03, Matt Preston,'The thin bases here may not be to everyone's liking but pizza minimalists will love it' The Age, Epicure, 5/8/03, Matt Preston,'Feel free to take the kids and your own wine, as the wine list is awful.'
