Mietta's Review
A corner blue stone cafe that has locals giggling with glee, at the mixture of joy and the free flowing champagne at Ici. Apart from being licensed they make great toasties and even better breakfasts, the polenta pancakes with relish and mushrooms are a hit. Far from the hubbub of the posers posing on Brunswick Street and the shoppers rummaging on Smith Street, a relatively peaceful weekend afternoon spent pawing over the papers, sipping on a great coffee and basking in the attention of the friendly waiting staff make for a very good time.

The Age Cheap Eats 2008 "When the designer pooches have overrun Brunswick Street, backstreet Ici is just the place to hide"

The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "Behind the Brunswick Street scene, on a leafy Fitzroy corner, dainty Ici delivers daytime dishes to rah-rah about. Chalked above the woodpanelled walls of the salon-style interior is a sophisticated breakfast menu: maybe delicately spiced French toast with lashings of chaimascarpone and vanilla-soaked apples, or a cheese and spinach-spiked omelette with a perky tomato-based harissa."

The Age Cheap Eats 2006 It's sneakily hidden down a backstreet, and that's just the way locals like it. They want to keep this intimate cafe-bar with its wood panelling and bohemian je ne sais quoi to themselves.

The Age Cheap Eats 2005 "BRASH Brunswick Street may be two blocks away, but Ici's backstreet location, dark-wood interior and subtle French theme make this cafe feel like another world."

The Age Cheap Eats 2004 "FITZROY'S flirtation with Ici's brave new world of breakfast has grown into a full-blown affair."
