The Grand View Hotel has everything a pub-goer could dream of: giant TV; beer on tap; TAB; carpet to absorb spilt beer; a BBQ and huge steaks. And in the summer they also provide tongs, and probably an apron if you ask, because on Sundays you cook the steak yourself. This is an old-fashioned, no-frills pub that anybody can feel comfortable in, but there is so much to do. You can play a game of pool, and watch the footy on the telly, while listening to the call of race four from the Werribee races. This hotel is where pubs started from, before the polished sheen of concrete floors, and the chilling of bottles of vodka became popular. Having places like the Grand View still around is as reassuring as a sell-out Renee Geyer concert.
