Mietta's Review It can be expensive to goes to Volumes because it's hard to pass the bookshop specials without succumbing to at least two "never to be repeated" specials. Then one has to fight their way past the cake display, some of which don't only look delectable. The place does breakfast almost all day, nice trendy lunches and dinner a few nights each week. There is a limited wine list, which could easily do with help, and a range of beers by the big one, CUB. People laze around at the mixture of tables and benches, both in and on the verandah of the cafe which looks out over the noisy main street of Eltham. It's a perfect spot for coffee and a morning sugar top up while browsing the papers and patrons. One wall is adorned with a convincing trompe d'oeil of a mixture of Broadway NY, New Orleans and that other great music Mecca, Eltham. The bar is nicely furnished with wrought iron shelves and shiny embossed tin facade. The place is eminently respectable. The bookshop is very well stocked and they encourage book browsing
Other published opinions The Age, Epicure, 27/4/04,John Welldon,'Browse, graze and sip at this cafe plus book/music/gift shop all in one colorful space.Menu includes risotto, tempura, nachos, bruschetta and 'voluminous' burgers.'

Ginger Garlic Victoria Well worth the trip to Eltham if Indian is your bag. Small and intimate in winter, with a terrace when the weather permits. The food is eclectic.
