Mietta's Review
This is the grandest of the eastern suburbs Chinese restaurants. From the moment you set foot on the inlaid marble floor at the entrance you know that you're in a real restaurant. Black Jacketed professional waiters guide you to your seat and help you through the well designed menu. Though the price is higher than its competitors (there aren't many dishes under $20) it still less than an equally well appointed and run European establishment. The cooking is very precise and the taste excellent. Couples, families and large parties come here for the decor - the warm ambience, fine dining and impeccable service." There is a another Plume at Highpoint Shopping Centre, Maribyrnong (03 9318 6833).

Age Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 13/20 "Lovers of Chinese food are familiar with Melbourne's CBD-Box Hill-Doncaster axis of Cantonese eating, and the best of the latter includes this super-sized restaurant in the heart of family-dining territory"

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 score 14/20 "Not many Chinese restaurants serve food on warm plates, but Plume does. It's a pleasantly unexpected touch in a place this huge. Not many Chinese restaurants post a full menu on the internet, but Plume does, allowing you to navigate through a whole banquet without lifting a chopstick. A change of carpet and a lick of paint have also helped Plume maintain pole position in the east."

The Age Good Food Guide 2005 "LOOK on the 1980s purple paintwork that Plume flaunts as a mark of confidence, as this place has been pulling in crowds for years. The huge restaurant bustles along with waiters dispensing tea, hot towels and dishes from a thorough menu, supplemented by a blackboard of attentionworthy specials."

The Foodies' Guide 2004, Allan Campion & Michele Curtis,'pop into this fantastic modern restaurant for a serving of steamed buns and chicken's feet.'

AGFG 2004, score 13/20, excellent wine list, wide selection of vegetarian dishes
