Mietta's Review
It's a great, big, open, colourful space that has some intimate corners. It sells a range of designer foods and its own take-home-and-heat dishes and, of couse, the cafe does coffee, dishes from the specials list and big range of foods in the display cabinets.

Other published opinions

The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "The first thing you'll encounter at Provisions (apart from the Penguin editors from upstairs) is the huge open kitchen where cooks are busy preparing take-home meals (maybe zucchini soup or goat's cheese lasagne), stirring the batter for the buttermilk pancakes, or chopping spinach to add to oven-baked parmesan eggs."

The Age Cheap Eats 2006 Breakfasters come here for fantastic oven-baked eggs with spinach and parmesan, or smoky home-made baked beans. Lunchtime crowds dodge Penguin editors and PR princesses

The Age Cheap Eats 2005 "BEST to come empty-handed to Provisions, a one-stop shop for the gourmand wanting to stock up on hard-to-pronounce olive oils, pasta and kitchenwares. And if cooking seems like too much bother, pull up a chair and tuck in, or snap up a ready-made dinner party to go."

The Age Cheap Eats 2004 "PROVISIONS' wholesome deli fare is the perfect antidote for shoppers who feel shattered after a stint of retail therapy. A handful of excellent dishes on the blackboard are supplemented by a large selection in the display cabinets"

Herald Sun Donna Coutts score 12/20 11/5/04 "Good coffee, well-made take-home food, plenty of potential. Today? No vibe and not too much food."

The Foodies' Guide 2004, Allan Campion & Michele Curtis,'You'll find this store in the heart of Camberwell and, like us,you'll fall in love with it.From the large cafe area, with its bold modern art,to the array of scrumptious dishes in the counter, this store caters for the both eat-in and take-home crowds. The shelves are groaning with olive oils, curry pastes, dried pasta, relishes, jams and books as well as a small range of homewares.Grab one of their own blended juices from the fridge for a fruity burst.Children will love the Kids' Snack Pack:ham and cheese roll, juice box,box of sultanas and a fruit stick.'
