Mietta's Review
This is a funky, laid back bar, with a casual, neighbourhood feel that serves tasty mezze plates. A unique blend of Middle Eastern and African menu and design, with a good choice of wines by the glass available, and a well thought out beer list, it's a great place too enjoy, perhaps, too many bevvies on a Saturday afternoon. The music level is conversation friendly, the service is charming, it's a great place to hang out at with friends.

The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "The riot of patterns, colours and faux Middle Eastern details certainly give Pause an exotic look, but the moody lighting, good tunes, wellstocked bar (including a swathe of cocktails) and bohemian crowd is undeniably Balaclava."

The Age Cheap Eats 2006 The Bedouin chic look has held up well here: low-lighting, inviting cushions and a youngish crowd help ensure Pause remains popular ... Finish with plump Turkish delight, or start all over again with something from the great cocktail list.

The Age Cheap Eats 2004,Good vegetarian options,Good bar,'For those who get beyond the drinks list, the offerings are mainly Middle Eastern-shareables such as house-made vegie dips, and one-dish delights like fatayer triangle stuffed with spinach, mint, haloumi, feta and mozzarella, all drizzled with pomegranate molasses.'
