Mietta's Review
Consistently excellent Chinese food is served at this somewhat suburban restaurant. Specialising in Peking dishes, including (of course) Peking Duck, but with a range of other dishes that are rare on most Chinese menus, this is the place to really indulge. There is a long list of noodle dishes and a huge range of buns. The wine and drinks list is adequate.

Other published opinions

Adelaide Advertiser 2006 "In 1990, this restaurant opened with much fanfare when Hong Kong film stars Mary Hon and Yen To reputedly spent a small fortune luring top chefs from their homeland, each with their own specialty. Those days have gone and Jo Guan now maintains the venue's reputation for consistently good authentic northern Chinese cuisine."

Sunday Mail 17/10/04 "Jo Guan now is in charge and is aiming to maintain the venue's reputation for consistently good authentic northern Chinese cuisine. The venue has very large Chinese paintings on the walls, a variety of tanks holding fish, eels and more, downlights, dusky pink tableclothes and muted mauve walls. Plenty of staff were on hand to whisk us drinks and take orders from an extensive menu where entrees range from $2.20 to $10.80, a dozen soups are on offer and most mains are under $20 - many at $10.80 up to abalone dishes of $45."
