Mietta's Review
The setting and the views are unchanged, as are the fine wines of the d'Arenberg estat. D'Arry's verandah is now run by Peter Reschke, Nigel Rich and Jo Reschke. The former two are the chefs who have propelled the restaurant on an upward curve. The moder Australian food has flair and the service is professional. Wines can be tasted at the cellar door adjacent to the restaurant.

Gourmet Traveller 2008 Australian Restaurant Guide "Wrapped around the original d'Arenberg cottage, every table in this soulful country restaurant gazes out across the panorama of vineyards and eucalypts"

Gourmet Traveller 2007 Australian Restaurant Guide "Attached to one of McLaren Vale's best cellar doors, D'Arry's has views across valley vineyards t a range of mesmerising patchwork hills that put you in a wine-country mood very quickly. Every d'Arenberg drop is available by the Riedel glassful, alongside imported wines try the tasting flights of three for a broader match with a menu that is confident in its grasp of classic British cuisine through Continental stylings all the way to Asian creations."

Adelaide Advertiser 2006 "The view from d'Arry's Verandah is a spectacular one on to the Southern Vales. The restaurant, adjacent to the d'Arenberg cellar door, is exactly as it is named: an enclosed veranda of a big house. In warmer months diners sit under huge shade sails on the deck."

Gourmet Traveller 2006 Australian Restaurant Guide * "D'Arry's Verandah has unparalleled views across the Southern Vales, from its wide, shaded terrace and through the wrap-around windows of the enclosed veranda. The converted 19th century homestead also houses the d'Arenberg cellar door. Warmed in winter by an open fire, it's a good place to start your meal, tasting from the long list of d'Arenberg wines you might choose"

Gourmet Traveller 2005 Australian Restaurant Guide "A new team is at one of McLaren Vale's best-situated winery restaurants, high on a ridge among gums and vines, with excellent views. Part of the d'Arenberg winery complex, you eat in a closed-in verandah that can be a little draughty mid-winter, but mature and intuitive staff respond well to your discomforts."

The Adelaide Advertiser, 8/6/04 Tony Love score 16+/20, "The news that restaurant pros Peter and Jo Rechke and partner Nigel Rich have taken over the kitchen and tables at d'Arry's Verandah has aroused more fascination in hospitality circles than most restaurant shuffles. They are providing assured cooking with simple, yet rich flavours; very comforting dishes, mature and smart service, great views."

Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2004,'The view over the patchwork of vineyards looks into the heart and soul of McLaren Vale...The menu feasts on the regional produce of the Fleurieu Peninsula...convential though casual style'

The Weekend Australian, 16-17/8/03, Richard Yallop,'offers serious food..The desserts were a highlight.'
