Mietta's Review
Adelaide's best Greek food (sometimes with rather interesting twists) features at this restaurant which also boasts ocean views and outdoor, beachside dining. This place is popular with a very diverse crowd; business people, politicians, families, couples, parties. The wine list changes regularly, but usually includes examples of Greek wine and beer.

Other published opinions

The Adelaide Food Guide 2010 "Henley Square is one of Adelaide's hottest locales for a lazy summer lunch or a latte to watch winter's waves. Estia has a prime spot on the square and its Greek cuisine is a perfect fit with the city's Mediterranean climate"

Adelaide Advertiser 2006 "They don't chuck the crockery around but everything else about Estia is vibrantly Greek, including its attitude to family dining. The restaurant has been run by owner Nick Mavridis for the past 12 years, and chef Arthur Lotsos has been there for most of that period, Estia has built a reputation for reliable, good-quality food."

Adelaide Advertiser Tony Baker 21/6/05 "Lovely location. Greek food served in Greek style (the beach in an Aegean-type setting) as mezes, first-course-size portions. Lots of choice"

Adelaide Advertiser 27/4/05 Tony Baker "Even the setting, a corner of Henley Square facing the beach, is Oz-Aegean and here the Mavridis family runs a true Greek taverna."

The Advertiser, 22/10/03, Tony Baker,'has become bigger and better...it is superb and healthy and the family Mavridis are at pains to ensure its authenticity.'

The Advertiser, 2/7/03, Food & WIne,'gives you sea views, a roaring fire and, with recent renovations, an expanded wine list.'

Or perhaps ...

Bacchus Wine Bar (08) 8356 2644, 253 The Esplanade, Henley Beach - Open, spacious and subtly lit, in a prime position overlooking the jetty and sea.

Cafe Salsa 8235 1991, 5 West Beach Rd, West Beach - The street approach is a time warp. Crazy paving and palms beside the curved roof are whimsical. Homely Italian dishes.

Grange Jetty Kiosk (08) 8235 0822, Jetty St & The Esplanade, Grange - In 1997 this was a ground-breaking restaurant for Adelaide, a smart buzzy bistro on the beach with good food - it was great fun

Henley on Sea (08) 8235 2250, 251 The Esplanade, Henley Beach - With its old surf lifesaving boat, plain wooden floors and paper-topped tables this is an unpretentious place and great film location (it was used in Shine).
