Mietta's Review
A catering business with attached cafe. Chef John Gabel and partner Cindy McFarlane's Food Business produces well-judged dishes for eastern suburbs residents at their unassuming restaurant with plenty of seats outside (next to a car park) . There's nothing too complicated about the cooking but all the result is realistic both in price (mains around $20) and quality.

Gourmet Traveller 2008 Australian Restaurant Guide "This is a place where bold personality sits comfortably with the kind of cooking and service you might expect to find somewhere more formal"

Gourmet Traveller 2007 Australian Restaurant Guide "There's an aura of cool and calm at Food Business, from the mature, professional staif to the contemporary decor with splashes of the signature cerise on everything from the bar to the labels on housemade products. Veteran chef John Gabel has structured his menu to begin with small courses suitable to share as tapas or as an entree."

Adelaide Advertiser 2006 "You can taste passion in food. No question about it. The Food Business is all that: a labour of love for owners John Gabel and partner Cindy McFarlane. The business side centres around catering for a range of events but the kitchen crew also does breakfast and lunch seven days a week."

Gourmet Traveller 2006 Australian Restaurant Guide "Tucked into a quiet corner ofa leafy eastern suburb, this base for a small, smart catering company also works a treat as an inviting breakfast and lunch room with encouraging menus, skilfull cooking and sensitive high-end service."

The Adelaide Advertiser score 16/20 Tony Love 22/6/05 "An unassuming little lunch spot where the food and wine service, passion in the kitchen and a devotion to good value and honest dishes deserve greater recognition."
