Mietta's ReviewLa Trattoria's salad dressing, like Proust's madelaine, transport one back to Italy, wiping tears (caused by its acidity) from the eyes. The room, the gliding progression of the waiters, the regulars wandering behind the bar - this must be Italia, not King William St. The Tratt's not the smartest place in town but it is still serving late (till 1am), and the food is as it's always been. This place claims to be the first pizza bar and the first Italian restaurant in Adelaide. Still run by the same family since 1975 the menu is filled with old favourites, the food exists in a time warp - pasta (spaghetti marinara - 'the best in South Australia'), pizza, veal and seafood dishes whose names and descriptions are as familiar as a comfortable, old dressing gown. If you prefer to have the dressing gown at home, pizzas are delivered within a 5 kilometre radius.

The Adelaide Food Guide 2010 "La Trattoria, now in its 34th year, is a bona fide Adelaide institution. Owner Andy Parisi and his brother Natale opened La Tratt back in 1975 and are still at the helm of this old-school Italian restaurant"
Adelaide Advertiser 2006 "La Trat has long been one of Adelaide's favourite eating houses. It calmly goes about its business of sensibly and maturely serving first-rate meals. White tablecloths, warm bread rolls and a mature service staff who are as familiar and efficient as the restaurant itself."
