Mietta's Review
Two decades old and well loved; a classic French bistro. The food is very traditional - onion soup, snails, pate, omlettes and so on - and represents the antithesis of fad food. All is well cooked, the omlette, in particular, is perfect. Very pleasant and good value.

Other published opinions

Adelaide Advertiser Tony Love, 02-7-2008 Score: 12.5/20 "Traditional tourist-style French menu with all the old faves covered, though produce and finessing dishes needs more attention if it wishes to command more than its old keepsake status."

Adelaide Advertiser 2006 "This two-storey restaurant is a corner of French nostalgia in the heart of Gouger St's Asian restaurant scene. Opened 22 years ago by Jacques and Christine Naudin, food fashions have come and gone but La Guillotine sticks to what it does well - French provincial cuisine in a warm, cosy setting."

Adelaide Advertiser Tony Baker 18/8/04, "It's more than 21 years since Jacques Naudin cracked the first eggs into his frying pans at La Guillotine ... it is one of the very few restaurants to make a speciality of omettes." The Advertiser, 7/7/03, mentioned for Bastille Day. The Advertiser, 2/7/03, Food & Wine,'Classic French cuisine...here you get the real thing.'
