Mietta's Review
A classic; family run and very professional. Jasmin serves high quality Indian cooking which, while traditional, includes interesting Australian elements, like kangaroo. Front of house is overseen by Amrik Singh, a very charming and urbane host. This restaurant has maintained high standards over since 1980, earning many awards along the way.

The Adelaide Food Guide 2010 Score: *. "It started as a small takeaway on Hindmarsh Square, expanded into a subterranean dining room, and acquired world renown as international cricketers fell in love with Anant Singh's cooking"

Gourmet Traveller 2008 Australian Restaurant Guide "The world beats a path to Jasmins discreet basement premises, such is its stature among those in the know, and for 27 years it has not disappointed"
Gourmet Traveller 2007 Australian Restaurant Guide "Tucked away in a mid-city basement, Jasmin is a SA culinary treasure. The charming Singh family have created a relaxed, quiet and plush space filled with Indian artefacts, darktimber upholstered chairs and well-spaced tables. The menu is a familiar read with Indian standards such as lamb korma and chicken tikka, but here they're done better than anywhere else."
Adelaide Advertiser 2006 "For more than 25 years Jasbeer and Anant Singh Sandhu have been creating a SA success story. A business that has prospered for so long must cover some key bases. Consistency is the first. While there are nice surprises along the way, many dishes are familiar enough - vindaloo, butter chicken, korma."
Gourmet Traveller 2006 Australian Restaurant Guide "This is refined Indian dining, from the quality furnishings and original artworks, to the subtle spicing that differentiates each dish. Subtle, but not timid. Chef Anant Singh, who has run the restaurant with her family for 35 years, can crank the volume where appropriate"
Gourmet Traveller 2005 Australian Restaurant Guide * "After 25 years Jasmin is one of Australia's most-awarded Indian restaurants, with impeccable service, a tried and tested menu, a highly comfortable dining room and, unusually for Indian restaurants, a very good wine list. Close to the city centre, this basement restaurant is often packed with customers"
Adelaide Advertiser 23/2/05 Simon Wilkinson "Always good. Exceptional Indian food in a refined setting."
Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2004, 1 Red Star. Good vegetarian options,'Jasmin's basement restaurant is often packed with people lured by the promise of the careful, fresh spicing and high-quality cooking...A family-run restaurant...They are mostly familar, standard dishes but exceptionally well done'
The Advertiser, 2/7/03, Food & Wine,'smart, modern presentation...remains one of our most loved sub-continental haunts.'
