Mietta's Review Popular among Adelaide artists, academics, university students and junior doctors, being a stone's throw from the Royal Adelaide Hospital. It is painted a fearful, bracing green, inside and out. The bar staff can be forbidding, in the time-honoured manner, yet the dining room serves well-cooked meals at reasonable prices. Salt and pepper duck, vegetarian filo tart. Wine, beer and spirits at pub prices. It is within easy reach of three cinema complexes and dozens of restaurants and cafes. The upstairs balcony may be secured for a private party, which can be delightful on those long, dry summer evenings.
Other published opinions Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2004,'It is this sort of insouciant, careless style that has given the Exeter such a broad and enduring appeal...menu follows a familar formula, although the dishes do change during the year..There's usually a pasta dish, a laksa and curries...the wine list is a constantly changing list of often hard-to-find wines.'
