Mietta's Review
This very smart restaurant inherited much of its decor from its predecessor, Eccolo. The restaurant is very nicely set up with great attention to detail, including the appearance of the waiting staff. The food is good if a little polite (no extreme flavours) and the service is fine. The excellent somellier oversees a first class wine list. With the passing of time the rough edges have worn off and Auge eminates the aura of a properly functioning, well established restaurant. In 06 entrees around $16 and mains $30.

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2009 "The sparkling white Vespa out front sums it up: slick, stylish, sexy and very Italian"

Gourmet Traveller 2009 Australian Restaurant Guide Score: ** "Attention to detail makes this dark, handsome restaurant the benchmark Italian in Adelaide. It starts with immaculate service, the best in town, and continues with little touches such as a reading light clipped to the wine list"

Gourmet Traveller 2008 Australian Restaurant Guide Score: * "Plenty of polish here, from a smart-looking exterior and sharp-as-a-pin waiters, to the room, divided by a water feature - shiny bar on the left, tines-down dining to the right"

Gourmet Traveller 2007 Australian Restaurant Guide Score: ** "From the moment you step through the copper-plated front door, it's clear this Italian favourite is made in Milan, with its ritzy bar, mosaic pond, and dining room clothed in chocolate and tangerine. The switched-on service will make you feel special, as will Glen Carr's cooking, which shows a healthy regard for both the superb ingredients he sources and the hard work needed to do things right."

Gourmet Traveller 2006 Australian Restaurant Guide ** "Close to the Central Market precinct, Auge is unashamedly intent on raising its supremo-Italiano flag, with an elegant space, restrained lighting, the full linen-table treatment and sky-high levels of food, service and wine knowledge. The long bar, which serves good juices and coffee most of the day, runs the length of one of Adelaide's best-looking dining rooms."

Gourmet Traveller 2005 Australian Restaurant Guide * "Glamorous Italian Auge provides a welcome change. The dining room sets the tone, with a flurry of white linen, discrete lighting and a long banquette that is sumptuously comfortable just like the food."

Adelaide Advertiser 13/10/04 mentioned for Vitello Tonnato.

Adelaide Advertiser 20 oct 04 Tony Love score 17/20. "All soft and comfortable inside with modern design highlights that set an excellent tone for high levels of service. A touch more swagger from the kitchen could see Auge match it with the very best. Entrees: $13-$17.50 Mains: $24-$32 Desserts: $12-$14 Vegetarian options: Several Wheelchair access and facilities: Yes Wine list: Very good. Corkage: $15 bottle."

Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2004,1 Red Star, Good vegetarian options,'does a very modern take on Italian cooking.Full use is made of the market across the road, with a menu that emphasises seasonal produce. Each dish is simple, clean-flavoured and elegant...the dining area itself has a very Italian formality'
